Here are some of the comments from the concert:
Subject: A Wonderful New Years Eve ! Hi Curt, Amy and I enjoyed a superior NY eve at your show. You, your band and friends really rocked and bluezed the night away !! You are truly a man that can take it to the edge, and then some!!! We hope to see another gig of yours again Take care Danny

Robin: It was a lot of fun ringing in the New Year with you......you guys were fantastic!!! I'll send you a disk with the photos soon......Big Hugs to you and Faleen!
From: steve manganello Subject: RE: HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Sent: Jan 1, 2010 03:34 AM "The moon shined down on that little venue last night and the beast came out and howled"...It was really something and I'm not just saying that, it was a very special. From where I was standing, none of those who attended will ever forget what happened in there last night Happy New Years...Steve
Jeff Minnieweatherposted something on your Wall and wrote: "Happy New year! The word is out, I heard you & the band rocked the house last night...Let's have a great year. Peace Jeff
Sarah Lewis Bergerac posted something on your Wall and wrote: "Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a blast last night!!!"
Lesha Sprague Clark (From London) Hey Curt, Happy New Year! It was great hearing you last night, great dancing party, love your band....sorry I didn’t get to say hi during your break... met your lovely wife though.
Lori Bonn Hey Curt...My dancing shoes seemed to just move by themselves during last night’s full moon howl from the BEAST! I was so happy to see you...The music just flew by...There was a moment there when it was just pure joy to watch everybody dancing! When do you play again?
Beast you guys were a bunch of bad motherfuckers! Seriously what are you doing playing a place like that. You need to be in New York or Austin ~ Markus
I like your albums but they don't do the band justice, it's the live performance that was riveting! Usually it's the other way around. You are the amazing Beast. Matt
Robert - Beast Happy New Year...That was the best blues rock band that I have ever seen. I mean I don't even know if what you guys did was blues. The whole production was just amazing. Your Fiddler Carlos is a madman, so is the keyboard player and what do you say about Garth Webber. Rhythm section was tight too! You guys are ready for the big time!!! Whoa be to the band you open for! There were some songs where you couldn't hear the vocals or the harmonica at the end of the show but hey it's all good.
Mr. Beast, I've seen a lot of acts in my day, but nothing like that. The combination of your music played by those particular guys is volatile. Awesome Brother don't stop now! Emelio Rodriguez Curt
David Guaraldi commented on your wall post: "Curt this is why you were put here on this planet, you're an artist.....take a look at what your doing....it could be way more successful!
Tish Barrow commented on your wall post: "We definately closed it down.....:)"
I wanted to thank you again for playing for us...You continue to amaze everyone...You are a special talent and it's an honor to know you...Love ya, Devon
I think I probably had a better time than anybody else. I thought the band was great. There were a couple of arrangement errors, but all in all the feedback was that this is a kickin band! You made some good points about the sound – that guy has always been a problem…I checked on my favorite replacement on Tuesday as things were being set up, but he was busy in LA for the duration. I hope to play again with this band, I had a great time. Let me know if you need some help booking or whatever. Thanks for your leap of faith working with me ~ Michael White
Curt!!! The gig went off really well, you and the band performed great, the crowd really dug us Let's do it again ~ Tony Macaroni
Chip Tingle January 5 at 1:01am Hey Curt, I had a blast, and would love to do it again down the road if anything comes up. As for any of the music it was a fun train to ride and then I had to go home. Let me know what's up when you get a chance. Thanks for having me along dug the good grooves and I loved the lyrics too!
Curt, It was great working with you. I love the band. The rhythm section was so much fun to play with...I always love playing with horns...Carlos is a great musical director...and you are a great front person/singer/harmonica player...tons of feel!! Looking forward to next time. Happy New Year! ~ Jimmy Sage
Donna Glasser Niehoff Curt you rocked out on New Years! Fred and I had the BEST time ever! You are an awesome musician and thank you so much for the note. Let me know how you are doing and when you are going to be playing again! Much love to you ~ Donna
The New Years Eve concert that you guys put on was the most awesome pure musical experience that I have ever witnessed in my life. There was a moment when the whole scene reminded me of the movie "The Crossroads" where the Devil creates his venue and Jack Butler (Stevie Vai) cuts heads for a shot at the kids soul, however in this case the whole freakin place was beast rockin! It was surreal like a dream almost as if the devil jumped out of the moon and found this little venue in all the world and ignited the place into a euphoric voodoo rhythmic grind. Thanks Again ~ D
HAPPY NEW YEAR CURT IT'S CYNTHIA...OH MY GOD...I JUST HAVE TO TELL YOU...YOU GUYS WERE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE LAST NIGHT!...I'M SURE YOU NOTICED BUT NOBODY STOPPED DANCING & PARTYING UNTIL YOU GUYS QUIT...I'M MEAN YOU WERE AWESOME, JUST AWESOME THE BAND WAS SO INCREDIBLY TIGHT YOU WERE JUST SMOKING YOURSELF JUST ON FIRE I MEAN... I AM..I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY I FEEL, I FEEL SPEECHLESS CURT I MEAN IT WAS JUST SO FABULOUS AND AGAIN I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU AGAIN FOR COMING UP HERE AND PUTTING THIS ALL TOGETHER AND TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE YOU GUYS COMING UP HERE AND PLAYING...LOVE YOU...HAPPY NEW YEAR...

Was at a NSWF fundraiser and received your CD....listen to it often and love it. We crossed paths over the years. I was BUDS class 60 and spent time in ST1, UDT11, and retired from the SEAL reserves. Love the lyrics and am a blues music fan. It brings back the best memories. And you were right on....that harmonica was truly a precious gift.
Thanks

Ok, I got to apologize for not getting right back with you on this. Dude, I think it kicks ass. It's got a real party feel to it. Kind of makes you wanna get off your ass and do something. I'd like to see you guys play live. You got a talented line-up. The Sax was killer, what do you expect from a former Zappa crew member. If you lessen closely to Zappa's music, the talent is unmatched. The lyrics are so crazy I think the sound is over looked by critics. Well anyway, it was all good. Good luck my friend, stay on the beaten path or fuck it, light your hair on fire and hang on for the ride. Gotta catch a flight. Later Dog

WHATS GOIN DOWN BEAST MAN, THE MARITIME GATHERING HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR! I'LL TELL YA LIKE I HEARD IT, LOVED THE FIRST AND LAST, THATS TO BEER DRINKING EARS, ALTHOUGH I REALLY WASN'T, BUT THATS DEFFINATELY WHAT I'D LIKE A WHOLE ALBUM OF. I GUESS ARTISTICALY THE HORN, AND b-3 AND THE BACK UPS I REALLY DID LIKE TO AND OF COURSE THE GUITARISTS. IT WENT FROM A NO 1 BLUES TUNE TO FUNKY, WHICH IS COOL TO, TO A SORT OF RAEGAE SOUND TO ME, WHICH THE LADIES LIKE ,TO SOFTER BLUES/ROCK TONES THAT I WOULD OF PLAYED DRIVING TO GM AT 5 IN THE MORNING FOR SURE, CAUSE I DID FOR 32AND HALF YEARS TILL LAST JULY. EVEN HEARD A LITTLE ZAPPA IN THE ELECTREFIED ELEPHANTS SONG SEEM TO BLEED THROUGH, FOR THE TRUTH MAN IT WASN'T THE GREAT BLUES ALBUM I'M PLAYING ALOT NOW FROM YOU, BUT THATS NOT WHAT YOU WERE AFTER I KNOW, SO FOR A ALBUM PLAYING THE GAMIT OF SOUNDS IT WAS A 7- THE HARP AND LYRACYST WAS OUTSTANDING, HEY I'LL LISTEN TO IT AGAIIN BEFORE YOU MAIL IT, I MEAN I'D BUY IT NOT SURE ABOUT BLUES FRIENDS. WELL I GUESS THE BEAST IS SAYING FUCKUM THE NAME IS ECLECTIC BEAST BAND, TALK AT YA LATER

Hi Curt:
I just wanted to thank you for everything. I have been enjoying your music. You really are a great artist! I envy the front man thing for sure. We have a lot in common, I didn't want to freak you out after the sun glass's that was enough for one day!
Thanks, David

Hey Curt, it was great chatting with you at the Tam100. I would love to talk to you some day about your career as a SEAL, I bet you have a thousand stories to tell. I really like the military and all the high tech gadetry we employ in the different branches. If you get a chance, I would love to get a copy of your first CD. I listened to it at Ray's house 6/7 years ago and we just kept replaying it all day long, we just loved it. Again, it was good to see you and take care.

The first song gave me chills very deep. The second song reminds me of San Francisco and sounds like the Steve Miller Band meets David Lindley.

Curt,
I send my best and all is well here in 'The Burgh'. I know it has been a while... but... I am very busy with my mentoring job, kids, girlfriend, family and so on.
Thought I would drop you a line BEAST and say hello.
I listened to your CD's/album's and they were great. I mean they were great to no end! Great work(s) bro'! That is just powerful and real moving music... to no end!
I really like your style and lyrics... to say the least. I hope that your music ventures are going well. You guys are great. Needless to say.. you have a unique brand of music that tells it like it is.. from often ignored sects, parts and ways of life! I call it "TRUTH" and the way it really is out there.... for many people. That is just one of the ways that I look at your work. I hope to hear more from you in the future too. By the way: Where was that pic of you taken... in you op gear... on that one album cover/inside jacket? Just curious...Take it easy my good friend. I hope that life and retirement is treating you well... in every respect. I do send my best and I hope too see you in the near future.
You did one hell of a job while were 'in there' bub! (Just to remind you of that fact!)
Your friend and former Team Mate... always,

You, my Brother, have come a long, long ways since those days in the SEAL Team One OPs shop when you were tweeking Fak and my audiotory intake instruments (ears) with that god-awful noise emminating from your desk and lips.
Thank God our high freq hearing was already gone by that point in my and the Master Chiefs career.
You were no John Mayall but now I can say with confidence by evidence of your latest musical endeavor that you have in fact exceeded him, not only with the harp but vocally as well. Great Sound and I am indeed proud to call you a true "Friend of Fish".

Thanks for the CD. Never realized you were so musically talented. The harmonica is great as are the trumpet, drums and piano player. You put together quite a group for this CD. Now I know what you do on weekends with all the gigs you must play? All the best for a healthy & happy 2008.

Curt,
I am curious about the story behind Chase'n the Dragon. I love the song, It makes me think of the relationship I made with my own son. I have worked too much and not been there as often as I should. He is 22 and recently moved home after a divorce. I have been teaching him to play guitar and reconnecting. I can’t say I had a noble excuse of serving our country and was around the world. I worked as gang intelligence officer with juvenile probation in Waco, Tx. Unfortunately I worked a lot of 12 hour days and the years slipped by and then one day I realized my babies had grown up without me. My youngest daughter is 9 and I make sure that I learn from the past. I still work with kids but left the big city and gangs for a small rural town called Meridian. I was kinda surprised to hear from you, figured my email would be lost in the shuffle. I guess why I identify so much with what you do is because I play much of the same type stuff, blues and rock ballads. I had a wreck on my motorcycle and had to get some titanium in my pinky and that has caused major loss in dexterity in left hand. So I have started playing more bass, less need for a pinky. Anyway God bless and take care. I cannot wait to hear the new live album…I am inclined to do so. I play the blues also, not professionally by any means though. I can see the evolution of your work from the first album that Dave gave me. The musicians on the first album were good but the level of quality on this one is top notch. I love the sound of a real band, most folk get greedy and hate to spend the money on the extra members but it takes everything to a new level.
Play on!!!

The BEAST is living the Dream! Keep it going Brother... You artistically share your deep and keen insight through soothing and rythmic blues that are absolutely BAD ASS! You rock the house like you did back in the day in our platoon when we kicked some shanizzle from the jungles to the desert. You are still with us Brother...
